Professional Situation

1947 Born in Shizuoka, Japan
1971 Graduated from the Department of Architecture, Science and Engineering

Division, Waseda University, Tokyo.

1973-74 Invited researcher, French Government’s Scholarship.
1974-77 Joined Piano & Rogers (Paris, France).
1977-81 Participated in the establishment of Piano & Rice & Associati (Genova, Italy).
1986- Member of “order des architectes of France”
1981-88 Worked as a Chief Architect for Renzo Piano Building Workshop Paris.
1988-94 Renzo Piano Building Workshop Japan and served as a representative president.
1995- Established the Design & Research Organization:

Noriaki Okabe Architecture Network in Tokyo as a representative president.

1996- Professor of Kobe Design University.
1997-98 Visiting Professor of Graduate School of Architecture in the University of Tokyo.
2004 Lecturer of the Educational TV Program of NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) in Japan (9 times in all)
2007 Received  a doctorate at Kobe Design University
